From 27th to 29th January, the Grana Padano Protection Consortium will take part in the most important Spanish gastronomic event

Berni: thanks to an increase of 12.41% vs. 2023, Spain has overtaken the United Kingdom, making it the fourth largest foreign market for the world’s most consumed PDO cheese.

Desenzano del Garda (BS), 23rd January 2025 – From January 27th to 29th, the Grana Padano Protection Consortium will be present at Madrid Fusión Alimentos, Spain’s most important and innovative gastronomic congress, now in its 23rd edition. This year, the event promises to further enrich its experiential and sensory content, offering more spaces dedicated to training.

The Grana Padano Consortium’s programme includes several initiatives focusing on the product’s versatility in the kitchen.
On Monday 27th, in the afternoon, at the space dedicated to the PDO (Hall 14 – Stand D25E), visitors will be able to taste creative cocktails made by renowned bartender Cristian Hornos.
On Tuesday 28th, starting at 12.30 p.m., Michelin star chef Jordi Cruz will hold a conference in the auditorium of the exhibition space, in which he will explore the added value of using Grana Padano in haute cuisine.

Stefano Berni, General Manager of the Consortium, enthusiastically announced the participation in the Madrid event, underlining the growing orientation of Grana Padano towards exports. As Berni pointed out, “with a growth of 9.5% and 147,860 wheels sold, Spain is confirmed as the fifth international market for the most consumed PDO cheese in the world.’
